Boralex in the United Kingdom
We see the UK as a market with high growth potential for developing onshore wind, solar and energy storage. With Infinergy’s integration now complete, we are boosting deployment of development capital and operation capabilities in the UK.
Boralex set up a 50-50 joint venture with Infinergy in 2017 and acquired all shares in the company in 2022. We now own a UK portfolio of 448MW in wind, solar and battery storage projects, mainly situated in Scotland. Whilst Scotland remains a key area, activities are also increasing in the other home nations. We conduct our operations for our two offices in Edinburgh and in Wimborne, Dorset. It is expected that our UK operations will contribute 1GW in ready-to-build and operational assets towards the 2030 target of 10-12GW in installed capacity worldwide.
